As part of its digital transformation strategy, GMM Grammy has launched the GMM E-Book platform, aiming to offer a wide range of digital reading content including novels, comics, artist diaries, and exclusive behind-the-scenes materials. The platform serves fans, readers, and digital consumers by providing convenient access to entertainment-related publications through an engaging and user-friendly digital environment.
The Challenge
Before developing the GMM E-Book platform, GMM Grammy faced key challenges that hindered its ability to adapt to the digital age. As consumer behavior shifted toward mobile and on-demand content, physical book declined sharply. At the same time, the lack of a secure digital platform left GMM’s content vulnerable to piracy and unauthorized distribution, resulting in revenue loss and weakened control over intellectual property. These issues highlighted the urgent need for a centralized, protected digital solution.
Our Solution
Leveraging our tailored expertise, MERCIL developed a comprehensive E-book platform for GMM Grammy in two formats: a website and a mobile application. This dual-platform approach ensures a seamless reading experience across devices, catering to modern digital consumption habits. To address content security concerns, MERCIL also implemented robust anti-piracy measures, including screenshot and screen recording prevention, and platform-restricted reading, ensuring that users can only access the content within the system. These features not only protect GMM Grammy’s intellectual property but also enhance the value of their exclusive digital content.
